Sam Kerr becomes the first Australia to lift the illustrious award after a record-breaking season with Chelsea. After being nominated two years in a row, Kerr finally takes the honours.

Kerr's first PFA Award win also makes her the first Australia to win PFA Players' Player of Year. She also becomes the first Australian woman to win an award after Harry Kewell won the PFA Young Player of the Year honour in 2000. Football Australia welcomes the NSW Government announcement to increase venue capacity to 75%
What's on in October?
Football Australia today welcomed NSW Government’s announcement to increase the venue capacity of CommBank Stadium to 75% or 22,500 for the Commonwealth Bank Matildas two-match series against Brazil on Saturday 23 and Tuesday 26 October.

This announcement also coincides with New South Wales reaching a double vaccination rate of 70% of all people aged 16 and over in advance of these fixtures, with football now leading the way in NSW’s reopening plans.
