Hyundai A-League 2019/20 remaining schedule of matches released

Football Federation Australia (FFA) today released the schedule of matches for the remainder of the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 season.

The revised regular season schedule will feature 27 matches to be played in 28 days starting Thursday 16 July followed by a 5 game Hyundai A-League 2020 Finals Series, with matches to feature across FOX SPORTS, SKY Sport (NZ), ABC TV, Kayo Sports and MyFootball Live App, Live Fast and Data Free for Telstra mobile customers.

Football West welcomes the announcement today from Prime Minister Scott Morrison that the Coalition will commit $16.25 million towards a State Football Centre should they win this month’s Federal Election.

Football Federation Australia (FFA) today announced Peter Filopoulos has been appointed FFA Head of Marketing, Communications and Corporate Affairs, and will take up his new role on Tuesday, 1 September 2020.

Filopoulos joins FFA from Football Victoria (FV), where he’s spent the past two years as Chief Executive Officer, following three years as CEO at Perth Glory FC. Football Federation Australia (FFA) today confirmed that the clubs that finish 10th and 11th in the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Regular Season will compete in a play-off to reach the FFA Cup 2020 Round of 32.

The play-off will be held in the days prior to commencement of the first matchday of the FFA Cup 2020 Final Rounds, and will add an intriguing element to the competition next year with one Hyundai A-League side missing out on participating in the competition proper for the first time.

Australia to open FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022™ following Final Draw
CommBank Young Matildas drawn into Group A FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2022™
The Commonwealth Bank Young Matildas will face host nation Costa Rica to open the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022™ at the Estadio Nacional, San Jose on 10 August 2022.   

The Final Draw for the competition took place this morning (Australian time) at the Teatro Nacional in San José, one of the two host cities for the tournament. 

Australia’s Group A schedule will see them also take on South American champions Brazil (13 August) and UEFA’s Spain (16 August).

With permission from FIFA, the members of the FIFA and AFC mandated Australian Congress Review Working Group (CRWG), today made public the report and recommendations for the future governance of football in Australia.

The publication of the report was made in the interest of transparency and good governance and in order for the whole of the Australian Football Family to understand the deliberations and recommendations made on its behalf by the multi-stakeholder working group.
