Football Federation Australia (FFA) has congratulated Westfield Matildas captain, Sam Kerr, on her move to Chelsea FC Women in England’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
After leading the Westfield Matildas to a 2-nil series result against Chile, the 26 year old Western Australian announced she would be moving to London to join the Blues on a two-and-a half year deal.

Seventeen of Australia’s emerging coaches have converged on Sydney this week to participate in a joint FIFA-Football Australia Coach Educators’ Development Pathway Program.
Football Australia was one of five Member Associations selected by FIFA to run this pilot program, focusing on the development of home-grown coach educators through 150 hours of theory and practical learning linked to the fundamental coach educator’s competence, which will ultimately lead to graduates supporting Football Australia and Member Federations to develop more qualified coaches.
Socceroo and Westfield Matildas greats, international stars, media personalities and a Hollywood actor have all joined the cause as the teams for the Oz Football Aid charity match have been confirmed.
Former Socceroos midfielder Craig Foster and award-winning actor Anthony LaPaglia will captain two star-studded sides for the match which is supporting Australia’s bushfire recovery efforts through Oz Football Aid.
The match is being played this Saturday, January 25 at AAMI Park in Melbourne as a curtain-raiser to the Hyundai A-League match between Melbourne City and Perth Glory.

Filopoulos joins FFA from Football Victoria (FV), where he’s spent the past two years as Chief Executive Officer, following three years as CEO at Perth Glory FC.
