Australian coach Joe Montemurro claimed his first piece of silverware at Juventus Women on Sunday morning (AEDT) as his side claimed the Supercoppa Italiana Femminile in dramatic fashion. 

Trailing AC Milan at half time, Juventus responded early in the second half with an equaliser thanks to an own goal from the opposition.

UPDATE: This event has been cancelled due to the growing COVID-19 outbreak in Sydney

Football Australia will host a ‘Unity Football Festival’ later this month in Sydney as part of Australia’s Refugee Week 2021 celebrations.

The event, to be held at Wanderers Football Park in the Western Suburbs of Sydney, will take place on Saturday 26 June from 9am-4pm to promote harmony and togetherness in our community.

The theme for Refugee Week 2021 is ‘Unity’, and the festival is an opportunity for Football Australia to celebrate how our game unites people and cultures from all around the world…

A 30-player CommBank Junior Matildas squad has been selected by head coach Rae Dower to take part in the first training camp of the new year.

Football Federation Australia (FFA) today announced that full time referees Jarred Gillett and Ben Williams will this week depart for a two week professional development trip to Japan, refereeing two J-League matches and one international fixture each.

Gillett and Williams will be joined in Japan by assistant referees David Walsh and George Lakrindis for the international Kirin Cup fixtures featuring Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Denmark and host nation Japan.

The Australian football community today congratulated Westfield Matildas and Brisbane Roar midfielder Katrina Gorry following the news she is expecting her first child later this year.

Football Australia congratulates Sam Kerr on UK Young Achiever Award
Football Australia today congratulated Westfield Matildas forward Sam Kerr for being recognised by the Australia Day Foundation UK as the 2021 Young Achiever of the Year in the UK.

Kerr, who plays her club football for Chelsea FC in the FA Women’s Super League, was named as the winner of the award during a virtual ceremony held overnight.

Kerr is the 17th winner of the Young Achiever of the Year in the UK and becomes the second footballer to be recognised with the honour after Socceroos great Harry Kewell received the inaugural award in 2005.
