Melbourne City FC have claimed their second Westfield W-League Premiership following their 4-0 victory over the Western Sydney Wanderers this evening at Marconi Stadium.

Melbourne City FC opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Claire Emslie converted her penalty after being fouled by Alex Huynh. Ellie Carpenter doubled Melbourne City’s lead on the half hour mark with a well-placed shot to the bottom left corner of the Wanderers goal. Ellie doubled her tally in the 63rd minute and Ally Watt scored in the 86th minute to seal the important win.

Subway Olyroos’ Head Coach Tony Vidmar has called up 18-year-old Western Australian Jahce Novello for this month’s U-23 men’s national team training camp in Italy.

Novello, who plays for Serie B side, Cosenza Calcio, replaces Central Coast Mariners’ Jacob Farrell who has withdrawn due to illness.

Australia's final warm-up game ahead of Tokyo 2020 has ended in a 1-0 loss to host nation Japan at Sanga Stadium in Kyoto. 

A lone Mana Iwabuchi penalty was enough for Nadeshiko to secure the win. Matildas head coach Tony Gustavsson deployed an attacking lineup in the first half. 

A strong defensive block from the hosts was difficult to break down, but Australia created a few chances.

FFA releases Inclusivity Principles for Club Identity

Football Federation Australia today announced the release of new Inclusivity Principles for Club Identity to replace the National Club Identity Policy.  

FFA Chief Executive Officer David Gallop said the move to a principles-based approach to deal specifically with the issue of club identity – e.g. name, logo, principles and actions – was a positive step for the game.
