Jackson Irvine (St Pauli) headlines the inclusions in the 26-player squad, selected for the first time since March following his return from injury, alongside Riley McGree (Middlesbrough).

James Overy (Manchester United) and Deni Juric (Wisla Plock) receive their first Socceroos call ups. Jack Iredale (Hibernian) and Callum Elder (Derby County) are also among the European-based selections.

Craig Goodwin (Adelaide United) is the only capped A-League Men’s player chosen, joined by Sydney FC pair Paul Okon-Engstler and Al Hassan Toure, as well as Melbourne City duo Patrick Beach and Kai Trewin.

Popovic said the matches represented another important step on the road to the FIFA World Cup 2026.

“It’s another opportunity to expand the depth and introduce players who have not yet been exposed to the Socceroos environment or senior international football,” Popovic said.

“We also welcome back some familiar faces, from Australia and abroad. I’ve had the chance to closely observe the opening rounds of the A-League season, and we believe this is the ideal time to integrate domestic players into the squad.

"We are delighted to be back in the United States to face strong South American opposition as we continue our preparations for the World Cup.”

The FIFA World Cup draw is scheduled to take place on December 5.
