The Pararoos’ 2018 IFCPF Asia-Oceania Championship campaign commenced in convincing fashion on Saturday with Kai Lammert’s charges claiming an 11-0 win over Korea Republic at the Kish Island Olympic Stadium in IR Iran. 

Needing to finish in the top two of the competition to advance to the 2019 IFCPF World Championship in Spain next year, Australia’s qualifying efforts couldn’t have gotten off to a better start.

Football Australia today confirmed that Matildas' great Alicia Ferguson (Cap #101) will join the CommBank Matildas’ official staff for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ after being named as Australia’s Head of Delegation.

Ferguson, who debuted for the senior national team as a 15-year-old, represented Australia at two FIFA Women’s World Cups (1999 and 2007) and an Olympic Games (2000) in her 66 appearances for the CommBank Matildas spanning a decade. The draw for the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2022 Qualifiers has been set for early July as the road to Uzbekistan begins. 

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced that the draw will take place on Friday, 9 July 2021 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

The seedings for the Qualifiers have also been revealed, with Australia U23's confirmed as seed 3, jumping eight places following their third-place performance at the previous U23 Championship in 2020.
