Football Australia conducted the FFA Cup 2021 Semi Final draw on Thursday as the competition reaches the final stages. 

Melbourne Victory have been drawn at home in the first Semi Final against Wellington Phoenix, with both sides winning their respective Quarter Finals last night. 

Meanwhile, the winner of Sydney FC vs Brisbane Roar will host Central Coast Mariners in the second Semi Final.

Football Australia is deeply saddened to have learned of the passing of former Socceroo Alan Marnoch. 

Marnoch became the 186th player to represent Australia’s senior men’s national team in an A' international when he made his debut for the Socceroos against Scotland, the nation of his birth, in May 1967. 

In total, Marnoch made 14 appearances for the Socceroos from 1967 to 1969. His esteemed performances resulted in him being named in Football Australia’s Men’s Team of the Decade for the period 1963 to 1970.

New rescheduled dates confirmed for Tokyo Olympics

The Australia U-23's and Westfield Matildas have learned when they will compete at the Tokyo Olympic games after the International Olympic Committee (IOC), The Government Of Japan and the event’s stakeholders agreed the new dates on Monday.

The earlier announcement by the IOC last week outlined the importance of rescheduling the event due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The rescheduled games will commence from the 23rd July and will close on the 8th August 2021.

The new FFA Cup Round of 32 format has changed things up in 2021, and one of the results of that was a record number of Member Federation v A-League matches being drawn!

Out of the 16 matches in the Round of 32, eight of those will see a National Premier Leagues club host an A-League club. 

The change comes after a move to a Zone format for the 2021 Round of 32, removing fixed A-League v A-League or Member Federation v Member Federation ties.
