Football Australia has concluded an investigation into the conduct of an identified spectator in attendance at the Australia Cup 2022 Final held at CommBank Stadium in Sydney on 1 October 2022.   

The spectator in question has today been issued with a lifetime ban from attending Football Australia-sanctioned football matches including all NPL, A-Leagues, Australia Cup, and National Team matches.  

 The ban is effective immediately. 

 The conduct in question relates to a fascist salute or similar gesture conducted during the match and captured on the host broadcast. Such…

Football Federation Australia (FFA) this week announced that Amy Duggan and Mark Bresciano are joining the FFA Board as Appointed Directors.

Duggan (nee Taylor) is a former Westfield Matildas defender who represented Australia’s senior women’s national team on 27 occasions, scoring 3 times, between 1997 and 2005.

Since retiring from international football, she has enjoyed a successful media career with Fox Sports, ABC and WIN News and recently hosted coverage of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup FranceTM for Optus Sport.

Record-breaking 56,604 fans turn out for CommBank Matildas v USA series
A combined crowd of 56,604 fans turned out in Sydney & Newcastle in November to see our Commonwealth Bank Matildas take on World Number 1 USA. 

A record 36,109 turned out on 27 November at Stadium Australia to break the attendance record for a Matildas match on home soil.

And three days later in Newcastle, 20,495 fans turned out to see the Matildas secure a 1-1 draw and also break the attendance record for an Australian women's national team match in the Hunter.

Football Australia has confirmed the Match Official appointments for Round 20 of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2022/23 season.

Kearney Robinson will officiate his 150th match as an Assistant Video Assistant Referee (AVAR) in the A-League Men’s competition, in the match between Perth Glory and Western Sydney Wanderers.

Robinson's first appointment as an AVAR came in Round 4 of the 2019-20 season, in the match between Perth Glory and Central Coast Mariners, and becomes only the second official to reach 150 matches in the AVAR role after Michael Bailey (233).

 Football Australia has been informed by Football NSW that they have received an allegation of racial abuse during the Round 3 NSW NPL Men’s match between Sydney United 58 FC and APIA Leichhardt FC on the weekend of February 18-19, 2023.

Football NSW has taken immediate action and has opened an investigation into the alleged incident. Both clubs have been notified and are fully cooperating with the investigation. How to watch the Matildas at the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup

The Commonwealth Bank Matildas are just days away from the start of their 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup campaign! 

Tony Gustavsson's side will face Indonesia (Jan 21), Philippines (Jan 24), and Thailand (Jan 27) in the group stages of the continental tournament. 

The 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup will be broadcast in Australia via Network 10, and simulcast on 10 Play. 

The Matildas' opening match against Indonesia on Friday 21 January will kick off at 9pm AEDT, and will be shown on free-to-air on 10's main channel (10 Bold for those in Western Australia).
